New Akeruka Head – Kumiko

So – Akeruka dropped a new gift head – Kumiko. Well worth joining the group for it, especially if you like an Asian look. While I’m not wild about the included eyelashes with the shape I’ve been playing with, it does have a lovely and distinctive look. I might even be persuaded to buy the animation HUD for this one.

It’s pictures here with my June Pale (unfreckled) skin and Peony shape.

So, it’s been a little while since I updated the group freebies in my store. And what an update it’s been!

There are three new dresses – completely free for group members. All are system layer and include omega appliers for your compatible mesh and include flexi or partial mesh skirts. A basic tank is also included – perfect for layering under other clothes. And then some accessories – gorgeous jewellery for a formal occasion and zebra mesh shoes (no zebras were harmed in the making of these shoes!)

And there’s more to come! Look out for notices of the free skins, eyes, makeup and other accessories that I have planned – all you have to do is join the group, and make sure you wear your LBD group tag. Head in-world to either the Sundana superstore or the Bay City-Barnstable boutique .

Blondie!

It was time for a change…I wanted to feel a bit younger, and I’ve never really gone blonde before. So here’s the new Peony…very pale, but I felt the look really matched the new dress. The Head is Akeruka Lara and Body the Maitreya Lara. The skin is my LBD June in Silver and the hair is *ARGRACE* Chikai. The dress is my new *LBD* Grey Argyle Knit Dress – you can find it here for only L$49: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LBD-Grey-Argyle-Knit-Dress/12545001

Shadows & colours & smoothness oh my!

What a difference a new computer makes!

My 10 year old laptop was (probably not surprisingly) struggling with Second Life. It’s a testament to it’s dear old GPU that I was managing to crank out shadows for pics on the odd occasion, but very ssssllllooowwwwlllly and the quality just wasn’t there.

So now….the difference! I have shadows, crispness, and I can move with all the bells and whistles! Thank you Acer and Nvidia 🙂 I can’t stop taking pics of how fun SL looks now!

Yay! For Mesh Appliers

I’ve begun to notice that mesh can be a little slow in rezzing when TP-ing into new places. Often my lovely mesh avatar will come into view…with her clothing half a metre to the left. Not ideal, especially in G rated locations. So I’ve started to develop some pretty applier fripperies to protect from digital nudity. And not just lacy lingerie, but some pretty beach wear as well.

Look for the new range in-world or in my marketplace store:  https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LBD-Blue-Floral-One-Piece-Swim-Costume/11751248

That odd feeling when your av is strangely familiar…

So, my last entry was about a new skin I was making and playing with the new Akeruka Lara Bento head.

I was playing with my new skin tone (beige) and gradually adjusting the shape to fit the skin. I also learned a new trick of combining a few hairstyles to create a brand-new look. I liked what I was seeing, so I started to take a few snaps when I started to get the feeling that the av looked a lot like someone… Who was it? Then it dawned on me…it’s me! Or at least the idealised image of me that I have in my head. Me on an amazingly brilliant hair & makeup day (and with those encroaching streaks of grey coloured in!)

Have you had one of those #firstlifemeetssecondlife moments?

A Spending Spree and Skin News

In honour of school holidays this week I decided to spend some Lindens.I’d been wanting to get an Akeruka Bento head, but held off. Sampling the latest, I was happy to see eyebrows are now a separate layer, and there are more bento heads to choose fromthan ever. I finally gave in and bought the Lara. Perhaps prophetically, Maitreya brought out their Bento update for the Lara mesh body, so now I have moving hands too! With all this I thought a new haircut was in order – I really wanted something that would suit a more mature avatar. The Argrace Makoto was just the kind of cut I was looking for. Setting the hair to alpha masking I was able to keep my complexity reading to just over 35000. Not too shabby.

The pics here also show off the skin and shapes that I’m working on at the moment – a mid-life skin for the avatar that’s wanting to show a bit of maturity. At the moment I’m using the omega applier for my AK Lara head – the developer kit doesn’t yet seem to cater to eyebrow selection. There are a few glitches targetting textures with the Omega, but I’m pretty happy with how it’s turning out.

Look for the Mid-life skin and shapes to be in store in the next week or so.
